Plumbing Pressure Testing & Pool Leak Evaluation
Stop losing water and money. Our technicians pressure-test isolated, accessible plumbing circuits and visually evaluate your pool's shell, skimmers, and equipment pad to determine where water loss may be occurring.
Is Your Pool Losing Water?
It's normal for pools to lose a small amount of water to evaporation, especially in the hot Northern Virginia summers. However, if you're adding more than 1/4 inch of water per day, you likely have a leak. Unchecked leaks can lead to massive water bills and, more importantly, structural damage to your pool's shell or deck.
Plumbing Pressure Testing
We isolate and pressure-test accessible underground plumbing circuits. Each accessible circuit is held under pressure for approximately five minutes. The written report identifies tested circuits and whether they held pressure or showed loss, plus any untested circuits and the reason they could not be tested. Pressure loss confirms a problem exists but does not pinpoint the exact subterranean leak location.
Visual Evaluation
Alongside pressure testing, we visually inspect the pool shell, skimmers, return fittings, light niches, and equipment pad for cracks, seepage, or external leakage. These observations are recorded as part of your evaluation report.
What the Evaluation Covers
Your evaluation report documents both pressure-tested circuits and visual observations across the pool system:
- Structural Shell: Visual inspection of plaster, tile lines, light niches, and return fittings for cracks or separation.
- Plumbing Lines: Accessible suction, return, and cleaner lines pressure-tested where they can be safely isolated.
- Equipment Pad: Visual check of pumps, filters, heaters, and valves for visible external leakage.
- Skimmers & Drains: Visual inspection for structural separation or gasket failure.
Pressure testing confirms whether a plumbing circuit holds pressure or shows loss; it does not locate the exact point of a leak underground. Any additional leak-location work is discussed separately and scheduled only if confirmed available for your property.
Schedule a Leak Evaluation
A professional evaluation is a small investment compared with the cost of undiagnosed water loss or structural damage.
