Choose the Level of Pool Care That Fits Your Home

Not every homeowner needs the exact same level of service. Some homeowners handle routine cleaning themselves but want a professional managing water chemistry and monitoring expensive equipment. Others want completely hands-off pool ownership. The Pool Sharks offers different levels of professional care based on the pool, property, and homeowner's expectations.

    Professional Water & Equipment Care

Professional oversight for homeowners who prefer to handle routine physical cleaning themselves. This service manages the two things that can become very expensive when neglected: water chemistry and pool equipment.

This service does not include complete routine pool cleaning.

The homeowner remains responsible for routine skimming, brushing, vacuuming, and other cleaning between professional visits unless separately arranged.

    Typical Weekly Visit Includes:

    Professional water testing
    Precision chemical balancing
    Sanitizer/chlorine monitoring
    pH and alkalinity management
    Calcium hardness monitoring
    Stabilizer/CYA monitoring when appropriate
    Salt-level monitoring for saltwater pools
    Visual water-quality assessment
    Equipment-pad inspection
    Pump inspection
    Filter pressure inspection
    Heater visual inspection
    Salt-system inspection
    Automation-system check
    Visual inspection for equipment leaks
Inspection for unusual pressure or flow conditions
Empty pump and skimmer baskets as necessary
    Notify homeowner of developing concerns

    Biweekly Professional Pool Service

Limited / Not Recommended for Every Pool

The Pool Sharks can provide biweekly service for certain pools and homeowners, but it is not our preferred or recommended service interval for most luxury pools during the active swimming season.

A pool continues changing between visits:

Rain, extreme heat, heavy swimmer use, pollen, leaves, chlorine demand, pH movement, algae pressure, filter loading, evaporation, and equipment problems can all develop during the 13–14 days between visits.

    Expected homeowner responsibilities between visits:

    Maintaining adequate sanitizer/chlorine levels
    Skimming debris
    Emptying baskets
    Brushing as necessary
    Monitoring water level
    Observing equipment operation
    Reporting unusual equipment behavior
    Performing basic cleaning when necessary

Weekly professional service is the Pool Sharks recommended standard.

A pool can experience a chemistry or equipment problem shortly after a service visit and potentially operate for almost two weeks before the next scheduled visit. Biweekly service is appropriate only when pool conditions, homeowner involvement, and equipment make it reasonable.

Why Weekly Service Is Our Recommended Standard

Professional weekly service gives a technician approximately 52 opportunities per year, if year-round service is selected, to observe changes in water chemistry, equipment performance, leaks, filter pressure, pump operation, salt systems, pool surfaces, water level, automation, and overall pool condition.

This allows developing conditions to be noticed earlier than with occasional service. Early identification can often prevent a small issue from becoming a larger one. A slow equipment leak caught during a weekly visit may save thousands in damage compared to discovering it weeks later during a biweekly schedule.

We do not guarantee that weekly service will prevent all failures. However, the consistency of professional observation is one of the most effective forms of preventative care available for a luxury swimming pool.

The Real Cost of DIY Pool Care

We respect that some homeowners enjoy maintaining their own pools. However, homeowners should consider the complete commitment: chemicals, testing, pool-store trips, cleaning, equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, openings, closings, unexpected algae treatments, and, most importantly, their time.

What is your Saturday afternoon worth?

Professional pool service isn't simply purchasing cleaning. It is purchasing time, consistency, expertise, preventative oversight, and peace of mind.

When homeowners consider chemicals, testing supplies, trips to the pool store, cleaning equipment, troubleshooting, opening costs, closing costs, preventative equipment care, and their own time, the difference between DIY ownership and professional pool management may be considerably smaller than it initially appears.

The Pool Sharks does not claim that professional service is always cheaper than DIY maintenance. We do believe that the value, convenience, and protection of your investment make professional care the preferred choice for luxury gunite and concrete pool owners throughout Northern Virginia.
